Jewellery care

To extend the life of your jewellery, please give them occasional breaks and follow these tips to maintain the quality and prevent early tarnish:

  • Avoid sweat
  • Wipe with a soft cloth
  • Do not sleep in your jewellery
  • Avoid chemicals, especially the hand cream
  • Wait for hand/face cream to dry before putting on any jewellery
  • Avoid bathing, showering, swimming or washing your hands with jewellery on

The silver may darken over time if your jewellery has been exposed to intense light, perfumes or other chemicals. If this does occur, your Vibrant-Look jewellery can be cleaned using a very soft specialist jewellery cloth.

Avoid using ‘dip’ polish or abrasive jewellery cleaners, as these contain harsh chemicals and can destroy your jewellery over time. We do not recommend using jewellery polishing cloths treated with cleaners or polishing agents.

Exposure to water, lotions, body oils, cosmetics, perfumes, excessive heat, humidity and cleaning agents may cause discolouration and affect the finish of the jewellery - traces of copper can be found in Gold plating as this contributes to the colouring of the metal. In some extreme cases of sensitive, highly acidic skin, you may experience some oxidisation (slight greening).
The other leading cause of oxidisation is chemicals found in hand creams. This is, in fact, a common trait in even the finest of jewellery.

If you are allergic or sensitive to metals or have had green tainting before, you will likely experience the same reaction.

Those who are sensitive to metals should not purchase copper/brass-based jewellery.

We take no responsibility or liability for any reactions that may occur. The customer is responsible for ensuring all precautions are taken, as we cannot know each individual's allergies and sensitivities.
